What is ScoreBX?

ScoreBX is competition scoring software. You set up your events and divisions, import your athletes, enter scores as the day runs, and publish a live leaderboard your athletes and spectators can follow on their phones or on a big screen.

What types of competitions does it support?

Functional fitness competitions and throwdowns, HYROX-style hybrid racing formats, strongman and lifting competitions, team series and multi-division events — anything scored by time, reps, weight, distance or points.

How does the free 20-athlete demo work?

Accepted Answer

Create an account and build a complete competition for free: details, divisions, events, scoring rules and up to 20 athletes, including entering and checking scores. No card is needed. Nothing you set up is lost when you decide to go live.

When do I need to pay?

Accepted Answer

Only when you go beyond the free demo: more than 20 athletes, publishing a public live leaderboard, or using the TV/venue display. Everything else is free to build and test.

How much does an Event Pass cost?

Up to 50 athletes is $100, up to 150 is $200, up to 300 is $300 and up to 500 is $400. The tier is chosen from the number of athletes in your competition. Over 500 athletes we agree pricing with you directly — get in touch and we'll sort it out.

Is there a subscription?

Accepted Answer

No. The Event Pass is a one-off payment for a single competition. There is no monthly fee and nothing renews.

Can I upgrade if my event grows?

Accepted Answer

Yes. If your athlete count passes the capacity you bought, you can move up to the next tier and pay only the difference — moving from 50 to 150 athletes costs $100 more, not $200.

Can I import athletes by CSV?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Upload a spreadsheet, map the columns, and fix anything flagged — duplicate bib numbers, missing names or odd gender values — directly in the import screen before it saves. You can skip rows and restore them again while you work.

Does ScoreBX support multiple scoring methods, tiebreakers and weighted finals?

Yes. Choose the scoring model that matches your rulebook, set ordered tiebreakers, and weight an event so a final counts double or triple. Capped, DNF, DNS and event disqualification results are all handled, along with penalties.

Can I publish a live leaderboard?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Each competition gets a public results page you can share as a direct link. It refreshes on its own, can be filtered by event, and carries your own logo, colours and sponsors. You control when it goes from hidden to live to final.

Is there a TV or venue display?

Accepted Answer

Yes. A widescreen display mode shows overall standings or a chosen event, and can rotate automatically between views on a timer — built for a screen at the venue rather than a phone.

Does it support heats, lanes and judge scoring on mobile?

Accepted Answer

Both are optional. You can run heats and lane assignments if your event needs them, and judges or scorekeepers can enter scores from a phone. Neither changes how results are calculated, and you can ignore both and score centrally instead.

Can I edit an event after setup?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Events, divisions and scoring settings stay editable, and scores can be corrected with a full history of who changed what. Locking an event prevents further edits until an organisation admin unlocks it, which is recorded too.

Question 14

What happens if the internet drops during an event?

Accepted Answer

ScoreBX shows your connection state and keeps values you have typed but not yet saved, so you can retry a failed save once you are back online rather than re-entering them. It is not a full offline mode — saving and the public leaderboard need a connection. You can also export a JSON backup and CSV results at any time.

How are refunds and cancellations handled?

The Event Pass is a one-off payment for a single competition. If your event is cancelled or something has gone wrong with a payment, contact us with the competition name and we'll look at it case by case.
